Products:  ranchwood™ product line in tackroom color with circle sawn texture in douglas fir for the siding. Bronze cedar from the AquaFir™ product line is used for trim, fascia, and soffits, using douglas fir wood and wire brushed texture.
Product Use:  1×8 channel rustic using ranchwood™ in tackroom color, 1×6 tongue and groove soffit in AquaFir™ bronze cedar color, two step fascia 2×10 and 1×6 in bronze cedar square edge material. Trim in various sizing all in bronze cedar: 1×4, 1×6, 1×12, 2×4, 2×6, 2×10, 3×12.

This duplex is at 9100 feet nestled in the mountains of Colorado.  This area is considered an extreme environment for building due to the hot, cold, wet, and high altitude.  Being aware of mixing building materials to accommodate your climate is crucial to reducing maintenance for homeowners.  Using a stone wainscoting to allow for snow drifts protects the wood siding from water all while still creating a beautiful aesthetic.  Stone and wood are eco-friendly products and create a beautiful exterior for any style of architecture.

Selecting a siding profile that allows the wood to naturally expand and contract is key to the longevity of the wood siding.  This project elected to use channel rustic, any lap siding with a reveal works well in extreme climates.  At Montana Timber Products we offer profiles for every climate and customer need (shiplap, shiplap with 1/8 or ¼ reveal, square edge lap, channel rustic, tex gap, and square edge (used for board on board or board and batten).  Tongue and groove profile is offered, but not recommended as a siding profile, using T&G for soffits, ceilings and interior work best.  Along with the profile, selecting the boards width is critical.  Montana Timber Products offers boards 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” and 12” wide talk to our sales professionals to find what will work best for your project.
