Situated in the beautiful Spanish Meadows area outside of Bozeman, Montana this unique home is the accumulation of a variety of exterior products including AquaFir™ which gives the home the beauty and texture of wood, while providing long-lasting, low maintenance protection from the regularly inclement Montana weather.

Mixed width and the use of various texture options allow the AquaFir™ to stand out prominently within the stone and stucco design. Using AquaFir™ provides the home with more durability and strength than the historically chosen cedar or pine options.

AquaFir™ is used here as window trim and also acts as an accent to complement the stone wall. The AquaFir™ is sealed with zero VOC’s Seal-Once™ which provides excellent protection from the elements including protection from UV rays that can cause the wood to lose pigmentation. This mining cabin tucked into the mountains of Washington is one of our most unique and aesthetically entertaining projects to date. The design implemented an array of materials as well as a variety Montana Timber Products ranchwood™ and AquaFir™ siding to provide the cabin with a one of a kind look.

The mixture of our ranchwood™ Western, Northern, Tackroom and AquaFir™ Whitewash colors is a demonstration of the flexibility and creativity available from Montana Timber Products. The use of Tackroom ranchwood™ trim provides consistency throughout the cabin while the Western, Northern and Whitewash color options provided the owner with the ability to be creative.

The use of corrugated steel and other assorted building materials complements the ranchwood™ seamlessly as seen here. The use of ranchwood™ Tackroom trim integrates nicely with the corrugated steel gives this mining cabin distinct personality and a very creative appearance. This Southwestern Montana home is a classic representative of the emerging Mountain Modern design theme transcending through the Rocky Mountain West.  Mountain Modern design emphasizes attributes of simplicity, clean lines, mono-slope roof pitches, and a mixture of rustic building materials.

This particular residence has a minimalist feel from the front, but then as the home extends rearward it uses the natural landscape and modern architecture to open up with large windows and into a sizable covered deck.  The use of different styles and application of ranchwood™ siding provides texture while maintaining the clean lines of the design.

As seen here, ranchwood™ Eastern exposure Square Edge siding is gapped horizontally. Mixed with vertical ranchwood Tackroom, metal paneling and large windows is a great example of how rustic siding can be integrated into a modern home. ranchwood™ is made to the designer or owner’s specific requirements and therefore is easily utilized and installed into demanding designs such as this Mountain Modern home or other types of architecture may require.

The architect and owner of this home originally specified the use of reclaimed barn wood yet had concern over budget and material waste.  ranchwood proved to be an excellent solution, providing a reasonable price alternative and easier, safe product to utilize.  The well thought out exterior and interior utilizes Montana Timber Products rustic flare to compliment a modern design.
