Incorporating Featured Accents of Natural Wood

PROJECT DETAILS

Location
Colorado

Residential

Applications
Vertical Siding: 1×8” | Shiplap | Douglas Fir

Product
Ranchwood™ Artisan | Dusk | Circle Sawn

THE VISION

The homeowners envisioned a dream home that seamlessly blended rustic charm with modern performance, aiming for the authentic look of reclaimed wood while benefiting from the durability, quality and higher consistency of new materials.

They sought to evoke timeless elegance with variations and color contrasts that reflect true artisanal craftsmanship.

THE SOLUTION

To bring their vision to life, the subtle variation and color-contrasting highlights of Ranchwood™ Artisan Dusk with a circle sawn texture added depth and character to the design. This choice provided subtle variation and depth and character to the home’s facade.

Design Considerations

  • Front and Back Elevations: These areas feature extensive use of Ranchwood™ Artisan Dusk vertical siding in 1×8” Douglas Fir, creating a striking, mountain rustic appearance that welcomes guests and showcases the home’s unique charm. The natural wood accents blend seamlessly with the light colored adjoining materials, adding warmth and a sense of history to the design.
  • Side Elevations: To balance aesthetics and functionality, the sides of the house utilize less wood.  Painted siding is used strategically in the design, maintaining the home’s cohesive look while optimizing material use. This approach ensures durability and ease of maintenance without compromising the overall design.

The Ranchwood™Artisan series provided the versatility needed to achieve their unique aesthetic.

The result is a retreat that harmonizes with its natural surroundings, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere for family and guests.
