One of our latest projects takes us back to Montana to the beautiful mountain town of Whitefish. This build utilizes Montana Timber Products ranchwood™ product line to create a very unique fusion between traditional mountain rustic and the southwestern stucco style one would find in Arizona and New Mexico.

The aesthetic 1×6 sheathing, 3×8 rafters, 1×6 deck railing, and Barn Series timbers all feature the rustic circle sawn texture offered in the Montana Timber Products line.

The deck railing provides a detailed perspective of the circle sawn texture, replicating primitive milling processes. The Montana Timber Products ranchwood™, AquaFir™, and  ranchwood™-weathered product lines are an excellent reclaimed barn wood alternative. Each product line offers color and texture choice, and are cut to order, resulting in a 5-10% waste factor compared to 35-40% with reclaimed.

A combination of stone, corrugated steel, cedar shingles, and Montana Timber Products siding and timbers create a another spectacular build.  The mix of exterior products compliment each other well.

As seen above, the architect chose to use a custom profiled 2×12 channel rustic siding for the horizontal application and 1×6 shiplap for the vertical cable areas. This 2×12 horizontal profile provides an opportunity to add chinking later and an excellent shadow line of depth. Everything produced by Montana Timber Products is made to order at the customer’s desired specifications, minimizing waste and allowing for a truly custom build.

This entire siding and timber package is part of the Montana Timber Products ranchwood™ product line. The timbers feature a weathered wire brushed texture. The siding features a more traditional circle saw texture replicating the primitive, historic milling process.

Located in the wide-open spaces of the Gallatin Valley, this Bozeman Montana residence utilized ranchwood™ siding to provide functional weather resistance while the variety of the ranchwood™ product options empowered the owner and builder to have the ability to be flexible in their design choices.

Situated in the beautiful Spanish Meadows area outside of Bozeman, Montana this unique home is the accumulation of a variety of exterior products including AquaFir™ which gives the home the beauty and texture of wood, while providing long-lasting, low maintenance protection from the regularly inclement Montana weather.

Mixed width and the use of various texture options allow the AquaFir™ to stand out prominently within the stone and stucco design. Using AquaFir™ provides the home with more durability and strength than the historically chosen cedar or pine options.

AquaFir™ is used here as window trim and also acts as an accent to complement the stone wall. The AquaFir™ is sealed with zero VOC’s Seal-Once™ which provides excellent protection from the elements including protection from UV rays that can cause the wood to lose pigmentation. Seal-Once™ helps prevent the wood from cracking, splitting, or warping, making AquaFir™ a great choice for door and window trim.

The design implemented an array of materials as well as a variety Montana Timber Products ranchwood™ and AquaFir™ siding to provide the cabin with a one of a kind look.
