An inviting community pool house that both delivers on a traditional Colorado mountain design and complements the beauty of the natural elements that surround it.

THE SOLUTION

This project utilizes 3 different colors in our AquaFir™ line for an eye catching variance in aspect and elevation.  The douglas fir substrate and handsome palette of colors was purposely chosen to fit the homeowner’s association’s architectural standards.

The contrast between the lighter Driftwood colored siding, darker Battleship, and the Bronze Cedar trim renders a unique light and brightness to this project.  It welcomes guests to enjoy a day at the pool, or a warm soak in the jacuzzi after a long day on the slopes.

This popular Asian-fusion restaurant in Montana was relocated and modernized inside and out with Montana Timber Products materials.  The contrast in colors and applications with clean vertical lines creates an attractive modern appeal.  By design, the abundance of natural wood and light provide a warm, biophilic feel to the structure.

Products:  Aquafir™ and Charwood™ product lines.  Siding and trim are a combination of Aquafir™ in Battleship color with wire brushed texture and Charwood™ in Midnight color. Wood substrate is Western Red Cedar, all kiln dried.

Product Use:  Siding is comprised of 1×10 vertical shiplap and 1×8 horizontal channel rustic profiles.  The two-step fascia consists of 5/4×4 and 5/4×10 square edge boards.  Window trim is 5/4×3 square edge material.  The patio posts and beams are wrapped with 1×6 square edge boards.

Products:  AquaFir™ product line in shale colored siding with charcoal colored trim in wire brush texture. The porch ceiling is hazelnut colored with a smooth texture.  Wood substrate is douglas fir, all kiln dried.
Product Use:  1×6 shiplap (vertical) used in the gables, 1×8 shiplap with 1/8” reveal (horizontal), 1×6 tongue & groove soffit and porch ceiling, 2×6 window, door, and corner trim, garage trim and transition band at the gables are 2×8 square edge material.  Gable timbers and porch posts are 6x6x8 FOHC (free of heart center) kiln dried with re-sawn texture.

AquaFir™ is finished with a semi-transparent stain that doesn’t hide the grain.  This allows the natural wood product to create variation and be versatile for any design need.  SEAL-ONCE® is a water based clear sealant used to seal the entire board before leaving the mill.   All product lines are textured, profiled, stained, and sealed before shipping directly to the designated location.

Product Use:  1×8 horizontal shiplap with 5/8” reveal siding with 1×6 tongue and groove overhangs, and 2×12 rafter tails.  Wood substrate is western red cedar.

AquaFir™ can be provided in either douglas fir or cedar wood species.   AquaFir™ offers multiple texture options including smooth, wire brush, and circle sawn.  The smooth texture on this home refined the mountain modern design.  AquaFir™ is also offered in 17 color options.

We get asked all the time what the siding looks like after it is aging.  On this project, the siding was installed in April of 2018 and photographed August 2020.  The sealant (Seal-Once) and tint have UV protective properties to protect the color. Individual color retention will depend on the exposure to sunlight and other natural conditions.  Re-application of the tinted sealant should be applied typically every 4-7 years depending on the conditions and individual preference.   Seal-Once is water-based non-toxic, ultra-low VOC, and has low odor so it is safe and easy to reapply. Product Use:  1×6 shiplap (mixed equally in color) in wire brush texture.  Interior wall 1×4 shiplap (mixed equally in color) in wire brush texture.  The trim and doors are in southern color in 1×8 and 1×6 square edge material.  Faux beam wrap is all 1×10 and 1×8 material in southern color all in wire brush texture.  Window flower boxes are 1×8 shiplap mixed colors and trimmed in southern square edge boards.

The Cloudveil Hotel (An Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott) was designed to provide luxury and tranquility amid a setting that calls to the mountain naturescape and western heritage of Jackson Hole.  Our team worked closely with the design and construction teams to meet the exacting details that this project required.  All exterior wood siding was manufactured with our Fireline treatment to meet the stringent fire resistance standards.  There are two distinct siding elements that were created specifically for this project to meet the inspired aesthetic vision.
